Coaching & Consultation Services for Psychotherapists

To grow as a newly licensed or pre-licensed Psychotherapist, it’s helpful to have support along the way, especially when you’re brand new to the profession.

Often, we are left to “figure it out” on our own, to reinvent the wheel of how to do the work of psychotherapy. From the clinical to the administrative, to defining your professional identity and theoretical approach to setting up a private practice, you must figure it out all on your own.

There can be a steep learning curve when you begin working with clients. Hopefully, you have good supervision to support you, however, there can be important elements missing, such as a shared theoretical orientation or common ways to conceptualize a case.

As you near licensure or are newly licensed, you have new choices to make. Private practice or agency work? How do you approach this decision? Both have different considerations and pathways.

There is no clear roadmap for the journey. Having a guide and a proven process can help you chart out your course to build both competence and confidence.

I have a passion for helping newly licensed and pre-licensed therapists grow beyond their learning edges. Since 2018, I’ve been supervising interns in private practice and community mental health settings. I’ve also been active in the Mentor and Pre-Licensed Programs in local chapters of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

As a result of my own arduous internship journey, I am committed to supporting the next generation of psychotherapists so that they don’t have to reinvent the wheel. I bring a whole-brain approach to supervision and consultation, helping new therapists think through cases and challenges with a calm, empathic, and intuitive presence.

Professional Identity & Theoretical Orientation

Defining who you are as a Psychotherapist takes intentional thought and reflection. Articulating: Why do you do this work? What is your preferred theoretical orientation? Who do you work best with? How will you work with clients? Exploring these and other important questions will help you grow in competence and confidence as a clinician. I help you discover your answers to these questions.

One on One & Group Case Consultation

All of us encounter challenges in working with our clients. Discussing your client cases confidentially is important for how you will plan and approach your work. In group or one-on-one consultation, I support you with exploring boundaries, self-care, case conceptualization, treatment planning, interventions, problem-solving, and counter-transference, .

Psychotherapy for Therapists

I have worked with many new therapists in providing the deep work of psychotherapy. As a Wounded Healer myself, I help you explore the “parallel process” that arises in the wounds from your own past as well as the present challenges that you face in your personal life (offered at the standard psychotherapy rate; some reduced fee spots available for new clinicians).
